Thank you for taking such good care of us We were two people who did three trips with Kilimanjaro Tanzanite Safaris; a four-day camel safari in Enduimet, the Great Rift Valley to Lake Natron trek in four days and climbed Kilimanjaro in 7 days via the Lemosho route. We were generally very happy with the company. The company owner Andrew always answered our questions quickly and thoroughly, and he always joined us at the beginning and end of each trip which felt very reassuring. We were also very happy with all our team members during our trips as they were always nice, funny and good at listening to our needs and making sure that we had the best trip possible. Our only comment is that it would have been nice to having been able to rent warmer sleeping bags for mt. Kilimanjaro from the company than the ones we got, but other than that we were very happy with the service. All in all, we were very happy with both the price for the trips and the service. Thank you so much!

Safari Andrew nous a organise une semaine de safari dans les parcs nationaux Tarangire Serengeti et Ngorongoro avec un guide francophone. Puis 2 jours à Zanzibar. Voyage extraordinaire, Lodges avec des vues magnifiques, Le guide nous a montré les big five et la faune et la flore n’avaient aucun secret pour lui. Kilimanjaro via Machame and Safari We went climbed Kilimanjaro along the Machame route for 7 days using Kilimanjaro Tanzanite Safaris. We also took a 4 day safari. Both experiences were amazing. Andrew was professional, responsive, and helped us prepare thoroughly. Our guides on Kilimanjaro were top notch and made the experience wonderful. The food exceeded all expectations! Our safari guide was likewise fantastic and fun to be with. Overall, this was one of the best experiences we've ever done. Can't recommend them enough!

Très bonne agence locale. A recommander (Kilimandjaro voie Marangu + Safari) Ne connaissant pas la Tanzanie et a la recherche sur internet d`une agence locale, pour combiner l`ascension du Kilimandjaro avec un safari de deux jours, je suis tombé sur l`agence d`Andrew qui avait de bonnes références. Je n`ai pas été déçu, tout c`est très bien passé. Andrew gère son affaire de façon professionnelle et honnête. Les prix sont bons et Andrew fait du sur mesure. Il s'adapte a toutes les demandes, il a été très présent pendant tout le voyage et a respecté tous ses engagements. Dans mon cas, il s`agissait d`un voyage a prix "contenus", ce qui n`a pas empêché une qualité de service très bonne. Words can’t fully describe how amazing this trip was! Kilimanjaro Tanzanites has my highest recommendation in every perspective. I went on a 7-day hike to Kilimanjaro on the Machame route and a 2-day safari tour with them and had the BEST time!! No complaints whatsoever. Andrew, the owner, was very communicative and answered every question I had prior to arrival. He personally picked me up at the airport and made sure everything was good to go. The price of his company is really great value for the quality of trip/services you get. Thanks, Andrew! For Kilimanjaro, I was the only client on the tour because there were no other tourists going with Tanzanites at the time (due to COVID). Honestly, as a single female traveller, I was a bit nervous going up the mountain with six men, but I was worried for NOTHING. The crew could not have been nicer. They took care of me every single step of the way. I literally hung out with them in their tent every waking moment when we were not hiking/sleeping because they became my family. When I couldn’t sleep because I was too cold the first couple nights, they thought of different ways to keep me warm such as lending me a water bottle filled with hot water so I could put it by my feet in my sleeping bag and stayed warm. The food on the mountain was surprisingly delicious and I enjoyed every meal. Between a lot of jokes, conversations, Swahili lessons and more, I had the time of my life with them. What an authentic experience! I want to give a special shoutout to my tour guide, Kevin. I definitely would NOT have made it to the summit if it wasn’t for him. From the very first day, he put me at ease and made me feel comfortable to let him know if something was wrong. He warned me ahead of some of the effects I might feel due to altitude so I wouldn’t be scared or embarrassed when it happened. He has 8 years of experience (as of 2020) and knows the ins and outs of Kili. He told me different facts about the mountains, flowers, plants and animals we saw on the hike. There were a few times when I was walking too fast which was not good when I was supposed to pace myself, walk slowly to properly acclimatize and not exhaust myself. Kevin was a great guide at setting the proper pace and constantly checking if I was doing okay. He always went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and I really appreciated it. He’s also an amazing person and we got along really well, so our conversations distracted me on the hike and made the time pass by faster. Thank you so much, Kevin!!! You’re my hero! For the safari, Johnny was my tour guide who was also knowledgeable and super nice. He answered the gazillion questions I had about Tanzania, his experience, the safari and all the animals. He knew all the secret spots to see the animals. We started at the furthest entrance and we were the only one there. We saw animals that other cars didn’t get to see because they just went to the popular spots (I talked to some other tourists afterwards). I know it may be his job but Johnny was absolutely incredible at spotting animals from very far away. My safari tour was only 2 days but we were lucky to see all the Big Five and so many more. A gigantic thanks to Johnny!!! Overall, I feel extremely lucky to have found Kilimanjaro Tanzanites because I can’t imagine my experience without the people I have met. Highly recommend Kevin for the Kilimanjaro hike and Johnny for the safari tour. Both of them as well as Andrew are awesome and will take care of you :)

The most amazing and authentic experience of my life! I traveled as a solo female to Africa to hike Kilimanjaro with Kilimanjaro Tanzanite Safaris. My experience was wonderful in countless ways! First, the communication between myself and Andrew at the company prior to the trip was very clear and helpful. I was picked up at the airport and communicated via WhatsApp once I arrived in Tanzania. I felt safe and welcome immediately. I was taken to my hotel and to a local restaurant for a late night meal since I arrived on the last flight of the night. The following day the company arranged a short trek to Materuni Falls and a tour of a family owned coffee farm. On this tour I ate with the family, grounded coffee beans “the local way” and sang songs. This experience brought so much joy to my heart. I loved that I was able to immerse myself into the culture and have such an intimate experience with a local family. The next day I was able to see the town of Moshi, shop, eat locally and work on the last preparations for my solo trek up Kilimanjaro. The company arranged a meeting with the guide for a gear check prior to the climb. This was very helpful. Then came the hike! I hiked solo up the mountain rather than in a group. The experience was tailored to my wants and needs. The trip was custom made. I did a six day trek via the Machame route. I felt comfortable and well taken care of. There were many different trekking companies and groups at the camps. The company set-up my wonderful guide and amazing porters. They carried all the gear up the mountain. I only carried my day pack during the hike and my guide helped me at times. The team was friendly & helpful. The warm meals were large, yummy and kept me going. They set up hot water every morning and had my tent set-up by the time I ended my hikes daily. The guide went at a perfect pace. He also kept me hydrated and made sure I was in good health condition throughout the hike. I made so many friends on the mountain and enjoyed the nature so much! My guide was experienced and knowledgeable. I loved how authentic the experience was. I felt like I was in Africa trekking up Kilimanjaro with locals. I made it to Uhuru peak of Kilimanjaro on the 5th day and came down the mountain on the 6th by 3pm. If you are looking for a true authentic experience use Kilimanjaro Tanzanite Safaris! I recommend them. I loved that it wasn’t a super fancy cookie cutter experience. It was affordable, met all my needs and exceeded my expectations. I am forever grateful for the care and preparation that went into my trip by this company. I want to thank Andrew for going above and beyond with the hike, local shopping, tours and the safari.

Personal service for a great price We did a Kilimanjaro trek and a Serengeti safari with this company. The owner is Tanzanian and was personally involved in planning and payment, so everything was communicated clearly. The trek had experienced guides and very nice and professional porters. They took very good care of us, from bringing us coffee in the morning to helping us take off our shoes when we were exhausted. Although the camping gear was more modest than what we saw other companies provide, it was perfectly adequate for our needs, and when we talked to other tourists in the camps we realized we spent a lot less on our trek than most people. And in the end, we made it to Uhuru Peak safe and sound just as well as everyone who paid more. I would suggest discussing tips with the owner ahead of time to have a clear idea of who gets how much - we had to distribute the tips ourselves, and it can be confusing. Best to get direction at the beginning. For anyone coming from western countries, I would also recommend bringing a few extra pieces of gear to give away to porters as gifts - second hand is ok.The men work very hard, and decent gear is definitely hard to come by. Especially useful - fleece jackets, hats, gloves, wool socks, hiking boots, rain pants, gaiters, and power banks. At the end of our trip we collected everything we could part with and gave it away, but you can also donate things at the start of the trip so you don't have to carry it. Another key tip - bring big garbage bags and put all your gear into them before putting in the duffel bags. It's the only way to keep everything dry. After a night at a hotel, we embarked on a 5 day Safari which took us through the Ngoro Ngoro conservation area and Serengeti National Park. We traveled at the end of the "short rains" season, so the grasses were high but the number of tourists was lower. We stayed at camps every night - these were nice "car camping" camps, with large tents, a kitchen and a mess hall. After Kili it's pure luxury, but they have other options too. I had a hot shower every evening. Our guide was very professional - he drove well and communicated constantly with other guides to find out where the best animal activity was. His vehicle was great. It had a fridge and a plug to charge your phone or camera battery, and it was cleaned every day. A cook also traveled with us. He helped with our tent set-up and prepared 3 meals a day. My recommendation to travelers is to bring your own snacks and beer/softdrinks - you will want to have something between meals. Also, safari can be dusty, so make sure you have clothing that covers your body and bring enough so you can change in the evening. I also recommend a buff or a bandana to cover your face.
