Safari park destinations included are Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, And Ngorongoro Crater. We include Tarangire because it is the nearest park to Arusha, and also, a convenient to begin your travel to Serengeti. Your Safari holiday must be comfortable, especially when we consider you will travel with children or old people. Therefore, we design this itinerary, to cut the distance of travel each day, and make your journey short in between each park.
Daily Safari Schedule and Accommodation
Day 1 – Arrival to Arusha City and the Booked Hotel
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Intl Airport, you’ll be greeted by a senior safari guide. You will be transferred to the hotel in Arusha, at a distance of about 50 km. Arrive for for, briefing, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02: Depart to Tarangire Park. Distance – 140 km
After breakfast, you will depart from Arusha with your picnic lunch boxes to Tarangire National Park covering about 140 km.
Tarangire National Park covers approximately 2600 square kilometers and, in the dry season, is second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife. Tarangire lies to the south of the large, open grass plains of southern Maasailand, and derives its name from the Tarangire River, which provides permanent water for wildlife in the area. Tarangire is famous for the large herds of elephants, which enjoy the large quantities of Baobab trees, and also acacia.
The park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas.
Our specialist wildlife guide, will guide and help you spot many wildlife, and explore the natural landscape. Your 4 x 4 game drive tour ends in the evening, between 4 and 5 pm, and then drive just outside the park, to the Eco Lodge or Winter Tented Lodge.
Day 03: Drive to Serengeti National Park. Distance: 220 km from Tarangire
Early in the morning after breakfast at the Eco Lodge or Winter Tented Lodge, we will drive to the Great Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area and do game drives enroute. On your transit, you have a picnic Lunch so that when you arrive to Serengeti you proceed with game drives in the park. Today wildlife tours is within Central Serengeti, Seronera Area. Dinner and Overnight at Embalakai Tented Camp or Tukaone Weavers Semi Luxury Camp
Day 04: Full-Day Game Drive in Northern Serengeti National Park
Do full Day wildlife tours in Serengeti National Park, moving northwards and tracking the great migration. Get breakfast then follow morning and afternoon game drives; tour to Seronera the North of Serengeti. Proceed with game viewing around Seronera and following the wildebeest migration trend. In the afternoon continue with game viewing in the Central Serengeti area where the main path of the Serengeti Wildebeest migration has passed. Get dinner and overnight in the Semi Luxury Camp SERO TENTED CAMPS OR UNTAMED MIGRATION CAMP OR TANZANIA BUSH CAMP (will depend on which camp has available rooms, when you confirm your safari booking)
Day 05: Another Full-Day Game Drive in Northern Serengeti National Park
Do another full-day game drive in Serengeti, Dinner and overnight at the Semi Luxury SERO TENTED CAMPS OR UNTAMED MIGRATION CAMP OR TANZANIA BUSH CAMP.
Day 06: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Central Serengeti, a distance of 220 km
After breakfast, do some more wildlife tours in Serengeti until lunchtime and, have lunch and then drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. At Ngorongoro, you have the option to visit Maasai Boma, meet local Masai people and learn about culture. Also, you may like to visit Olduvai Gorge places and museums. The total distance drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro takes about 3 hours (180 km). Then rest and wait for dinner and overnight in the EMBALAKAI NGORONGORO CAMP OR RHINO LODGE.
Day 07: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive The Back to Arusha City. Distance 180 km
Wake up early morning for breakfast then descend into the Crater floor for a full-day game viewing tour in the Ngorongoro Crater. All the BIG FIVE Rhino Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera; others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena and more. Birds include flamingos on the Soda Lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more. Your lunch will be served in the picnic site in the Crater at Ngoitoktok Swamp a Hippo pool. After lunch proceed with game viewing while ascending the Crater. And Drive to Arusha, in Green Mountain Hotel or OUTPOST LODGE- Get Dinner and Overnight.
